About

What can a doorway tell you about a city? Why do some streets feel inviting, while others make you want to keep walking? On this 90-minute walking experience, we’ll explore Groningen City through a different lens. We'll look at buildings, streets, entrances, edges and public spaces, and how they shape the way we experience the city. Along the way, we’ll encounter theatres, homes, social spaces, former industrial buildings and places of science. You’ll discover stories from Groningen’s architectural and urban history, while learning simple ways to read the city: how buildings meet the street, how they guide movement, create identity, bring people together, or adapt as the city changes. No architecture knowledge needed, just your curiosity. This is the first pilot experience by Between Buildings. The group will be small, creating space to look closely, share observations and experience Groningen together. Your feedback will also help shape future Reading Groningen walks. Come curious. Leave seeing Groningen City differently.
